The new Battlefield will be the first in the series since Battlefield V in 2018, which was a bit of a mess. The World War II shooter was buggy and had a lackluster battle royale mode to try and compete with other games, all of which led to DICE pulling support on Battlefield 2042 Guide|Https://Battlefield2042Play.Com/ V __ less than two years after its launch. Needless to say, it left a bad taste in peoples' mouths. It seems like DICE has taken its time to try and make things right with Battlefield
At the same time, calling the game Battlefield could purely be used to get away from the failures of Battlefield 5 as opposed to giving the series a fresh beginning. Regardless, fans will not have to wait too much longer to find out if these rumors are true, as a reveal is confirmed to be coming in spring. If the leak proves true, though, it is hard to deny that DICE and EA are pulling from one of the biggest video game franchises of all time – and their direct competition. If this truly is the case, hopefully this soft reboot of Battlefield will prove just as successful as Modern Warfare ’s
Henderson also notes that the game will feature cross-play between all platforms, possibly including last-gen. This would make a lot of sense given other shooters like Call of Duty have greatly succeeded by doing this. With player counts doubling, there will also need to be far more players to matchmake with to ensure matches are filling up properly. There will also be a free-to-play component, likely battle royale, and a system called "Units" which combines multiple squads together to complete objectives more eas
Following the bumpy release of Battlefield V , EA has been letting DICE really take its time with their new shooter. The last entry was rushed out the door and seemed to be capitalizing on the WWII zeitgeist that Call of Duty briefly created in 2017. As a result, it was buggy, underwhelming, and featured a lackluster post-launch battle royale mode that was also trying to follow trends. Despite selling over 7 million copies in 2018, it was deemed a commercial disappointment for EA. Needless to say, EA doesn't want a repeat and are going all-in on Battlefield
EA has somewhat confirmed some of this information already. At their recent earnings call with investors, the company confirmed Battlefield 6 would have more players than ever before as well as having maps with unprecedented scale. The game is also confirmed to take things like destruction and player agency to another level. It sounds highly likely that a lot of this is very true but of course, take it with a grain of salt for now. **Battlefield 6 ** will officially be revealed this spring and will release on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game will also be reportedly coming to Xbox One and PS4 as w
Inspiration may not necessarily stem from working on Battlefield , even though adding destruction-style elements a la Burnout wouldn't be unwelcome. That being said, Need for Speed needs to harken back to its glory days if it's going to ever recreate similar success. There were hints of Criterion Games doing just that with Need for Speed Heat , and tangentially so with Need for Speed : Hot Pursuit 2010's remaster . Stronger influence from the critically-acclaimed titles of Need for Speed 's past can only help the series. 2010's Need for Speed : Hot Pursuit is a good start, but it pales in comparison to the heights of 2005's Most Wanted and 2003's Undergrou
Call of Duty knows content is king. That's exactly why a new season for the game rolls out every two months, packed with new cosmetics, maps, game modes, and more. There is always something new to see or unlock, and that steady stream of new content every few weeks is what keeps players coming back for more. That kind of content production is only possible thanks to multiple studios having a part in each game's ongoing creation. Activision Blizzard knows Call of Duty is a huge money-maker , and they aren't afraid to make sure it stays that way by devoting as many resources as possible to each game's development and post-launch content pl
In an investors call (via VentureBeat ), EA CFO Blake Jorgensen confirmed that the new Battlefield will be revealed this spring and began to tease the potential for the title. It's unclear whether or not the game will come to Xbox One and PS4 but it is confirmed to release on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. According to Jorgensen, Battlefield 6 will " mark a return to all-out military warfare ." He continued by talking about the scale of the new shooter. " The game takes full advantage of the power of next-generation platforms to bring massive, immersive battles to life with more players than ever before. Featuring maps with unprecedented scale, the next edition of Battlefield takes all the destruction, player agency, vehicle and weapon combat that the franchise is known for and elevates it to another level. The team is focused and the game is ahead of our internal milestones. We’ll reveal the game in the spring, and deliver a defining Battlefield experience for our players in the 2021 holiday season ," said Jorgen
