On Microsoft teams it seemed easy enough. I just went on the apps page and disabled "allow users to install 3rd party apps," while keeping the Microsoft app installs enabled. I was under the impression that this "let users access third party apps in your tenant" was all encompassing and would disable all 3rd party apps / add-ins for all o365 apps. Compliance reached out to me and said users should only be able to freely install Microsoft owned apps on o365. This applies repair PST file without data loss to teams and outlook and office apps.

Beginning with Office 2013, system administrators can configure an enhanced level of control for add-ins by using group policy. Well after disabling that setting, now I'm testing further and I noticed that if I open PowerPoint and click add-ins, I'm still freely able to install anything. I'm not using an admin account either. Now when I open teams i can clearly see that 3rd party apps need to be requested but ms apps can be installed without issue.
