This issue has been fixed for Outlook.com country domains. If you used the workaround below you can now switch from using an Outlook.com alias to your country's domain. The root cause has been isolated to a bug introduced in build 8962, which was partially reverted, and further mitigation efforts are ongoing.

Unable to add email addresses in Safari

We will ensure that all information is retained and only contacts with matching information in all fields will be cleaned up. To check if you have received the fix, review your contact list to confirm duplicates have been removed. To help you get rid of these duplicates, we have released a fix which will automatically clean up your contact list.

Optimize Your Outlook Inbox with Clean Email

This fix will clean up duplicate contacts for end users starting August 9, 2023. Rollout of the fix to all users will take few weeks, so, some users may see the fix applied by Repair Microsoft email client the end of September. Add an Outlook.com alias to your account and send email to Gmail users using that alias. For more information, go to Add or remove an email alias in Outlook.com.

• Configure your antivirus software to exclude Outlook files or processes from real-time scans to avoid interference.
• Check the status bar at the bottom of the screen to see if another process is running.
• The root cause has been isolated to a bug introduced in build 8962, which was partially reverted, and further mitigation efforts are ongoing.
• This option could be useful if you constantly have to wait for Outlook to rebuild its data file when you restart.

Family Calendar not visible [WORKAROUND]

If you're a Microsoft 365 user, then you can download and install the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant. Then you just need to run the application, and it will diagnose and fix any issues with your Outlook profile automatically. To check the server status, visit the Office 365 Service Health portal. There, you can see the current status of all Microsoft services, including Outlook. If there's an ongoing outage or maintenance, it will be displayed on the portal.

Resolution - Recover Deleted Items

No matter how well written add-ins are (and even Outlook itself), there will always be the occasional Outlook problem that doesn’t seem to go away or may not be related to add-ins at all. Although it's not possible at the moment to turn the feature off entirely, you can choose to remove it from your favorites list by right clicking the folder and selecting Remove from Favorites.
