Obviously, the wallpaper puts the Hogwarts castle at centerstage, but just to the right of Hogwarts is a very particular looking tree. The announcement trailer for Hogwarts Legacy puts a strong emphasis on history, and the impact one's actions have on the future. With that in mind, it feels almost fitting that the new title already has such a significant legacy to grapple with. J.K. Rowling's shadow looms large over the game, both for her fantasy world that has entertained millions of people around the world, and for her hateful comments that enraged and hurt almost as many. Now, the tree in the wallpaper could just be another tree, but the placement and the cosmetics of it are just too coincidentally similar to the Whomping Willow. There is also the question of whether or not Hogwarts Legacy is actually canon within the Wizarding World. Although Dumbledore may merely appear as a cameo character, he could figure heavily into the plot. He could be close friends to the player's character, or even serve as a mentor or mentee, depending on his age at the time of Hogwarts Legacy .
